standard paraglider
The PL-15 Albatros paraglider is intended for training-pleasure flights. It shows a particularly easy take-off, high gliding ratio and easy manoeuvring in the air. It is intended for pilots with little flying experience and for trainee-pilots of primary training. Thanks to using proven solutions and excellent materials in the paraglider design, the Albatros is one of the leaders in the training-pleasure class of paragliders. The Standard class AFNOR (9703 1769 AP) French certificate is another advantage of the PL-15, allowing the Albatros to be used virtually all over the world. What is more, this is the first of the paragliders made in Poland, with any West-European certificate of airworthiness.
Technical description
The paraglider canopy, of elliptic planform, is connected to the pilot's harness by a system of lines and four-point main risers with the speed system. The canopy consists of a number of interconnected cells which form a wing when inflated with air. Upper and lower envelope of the canopy is made of Carrington Novare 42 g/m2 zero porosity rip-stop fabric, while the walls of a reinforced rip-stop 48 g/m2 fabric. Air inlets into the canopy are reinforced and stiffened with Mylar. The lines immediately by the canopy have been made from 1.1 mm diameter Dyneema fibre lines made by Ibex Ropes, while the main lines - 1.3 mm diameter. These feature excellent strength characteristics with low density and extension. Moreover, thanks to low cross-section they allow to reduce the paraglider drag, and thus improve its gliding ratio.
